Welcome to the Edmonton Homebrewer's Guild Website! Our guild is dedicated to promoting the production and enjoyment of quality homebrewed beer, raising awareness of craft beer, and providing a forum for the evaluation of homebrewed beer on a competitive level.
We have regular monthly meetings from September to May. At these meetings, we discuss club business, keep members posted about upcoming events, and generally just mingle to discuss beer and homebrewing. These meetings are a valuable source of advice for both new and experienced brewers. If you have a question about brewing, you will almost certainly meet someone at a guild meeting who knows the answer or will know who does. Members are also encouraged to bring homebrew to the meetings to share, to discuss, to brag about or to seek help in determining how to improve their brewing.
Here we will describe a few of the features of our website.
The above navigation bar contains links to our club pages, social media presence, live chat, and a wiki.
A wiki is a collaborative tool that allows content to be created and shared by all registered members. In this way, those in the club that have the inclination to build and share, can do so, to the benefit of everyone. The wiki including club recipes, brewing methodologies, and other golden info related to homebrewing. Registered EHG members can contact the webmaster for edit access to the EHG wiki.
The Chat link gets you to a fairly active IRC channel (##homebrew) - highly recommended for 'right now' questions about homebrewing.
If you're interested in entering our annual homebrew competition, The Aurora Brewing Challenge, you can follow the Competition link above and submit your entries. More information can be found in the FAQ, by following the competition link, and also in the wiki.
This calendar includes both the EHG only events and the #yegbeer calendar from our good friends at Beer Geeks. Beer Geeks Anonymous is an Edmonton Beer "Enthusiast" group dedicated to fostering a community around craft beer, especially local craft beer.
If you only want to see Club specific events, you can select the down arrow in the top right corner and uncheck all but the yeghomebrewers calendar. Also, selecting the Agenda tab you'll get a useful list view of upcoming events.
If you are already a Google calendar user, you can subscribe to this calendar by clicking on the link in the lower right.
